"Mental rehabilitation of military personnel and their families" - the international project was passed

The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences is actively working for the good of Ukraine in this difficult time of trials!
The project was implemented by the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences together with the World Association of Doctors, the Association of Doctors of the Carpathian Region and the Estonian Medical Export Cluster, as well as the Tallinn College of Health Care (Estonia).
As part of the Project, during the year in Ukraine, at least 500 families with psychological injuries were consulted, as well as specialized trainings and information days were organized for a total of 3,200 Ukrainian medical workers and teachers of higher educational institutions. Estonian psychiatric specialists helped hundreds of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and their families by providing psychological first aid to families and organizing psychological counseling trainings for Ukrainian healthcare institutions.
The first phase of the Project included meetings of Estonian and Ukrainian experts, as well as with specialists in psychiatric treatment facilities in Ukraine. As a result, the issue of further cooperation was discussed and steps were outlined for the internship and training of future experts in psychiatric rehabilitation and psychiatry abroad and the provision of practical psychological rehabilitation to military personnel and their family members.

As part of the II phase of the Project, 48 Ukrainian psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists underwent a one-week specialized training on psychological rehabilitation of military personnel in Estonia - North Tallinn Psychiatric Hospital and East Tallinn Clinical Hospital.
October 26-27 in the city of Yaremche as part of the III phase of the international project "Improving mental health in war and post-war times"
102 psychologists and psychiatrists from all regions of Ukraine were trained under the organization of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the "Medicine Estonia" Cluster, partly with the funds of the European Union.

On May 24-25, the IV phase of the Project took place in Mukachevo, during which specialized psychological assistance was provided to 132 families of Ukrainian servicemen and their family members. The assistance was provided by an expert group consisting of international (Estonia and Finland) and 30 Ukrainian experts.
